Terms of Use
These Terms apply when you use the Skiltvis app and skiltvis.com.
1. About Skiltvis
Skiltvis is an independent learning tool made for private learning and practice with Norwegian road signs.
Skiltvis is not a public service and is not affiliated with, approved by or developed in cooperation with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Lovdata or any other public authority.
Skiltvis is not a driving school and is not affiliated with or approved by independent driving schools or other providers of driver training.
2. Sources and content
Content in Skiltvis is based on publicly available information about Norwegian road signs.
Important sources include the current Norwegian regulations on public road signs, road markings, traffic-light signals and directions, commonly referred to as the Norwegian Road Sign Regulations, as well as information available from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration and Lovdata.
Where Skiltvis provides its own educational explanations, these are kept separate from official text.
A reference to a public source does not mean that the source has approved, recommended or otherwise endorses Skiltvis.
3. A learning tool
Skiltvis is made for learning and practice.
The app is not a substitute for current laws and regulations, road signs along the road, official information, approved driver training or professional guidance.
Skiltvis does not guarantee that using the app is sufficient to pass a theory test, driving test or any other test or training programme.
Results, the Skiltvis percentage, mastery levels and the Sign Check are learning tools within the app. They are not an official or professional certification of the user’s knowledge or driving ability.
4. Errors and changes
We work to keep the information in Skiltvis correct and current.
Nevertheless, the app may contain errors, inaccuracies, omissions or information that has not yet been updated following a change to regulations or public sources.
You should therefore verify important information against current rules and official sources.
If information in Skiltvis conflicts with current law, regulations, a road sign or information from a competent public authority, the authoritative source applies.
We may correct, update, add or remove content when necessary.
5. Responsibility in traffic
Skiltvis must not be used as the basis for decisions while you are driving a vehicle.
As a road user, you are responsible for following current laws and rules, signs, signals, road markings and the conditions at the location.
Do not use the app in a way that distracts you from traffic or makes travel less safe.
6. Limitation of liability
Skiltvis is an aid for private learning and cannot guarantee that all content is complete, error-free or current at all times.
Within the limits of Norwegian law, Skiltvis is not liable for loss or damage caused by a user relying exclusively on information, learning results or assessments in the app instead of current rules, official sources or actual traffic conditions.
This section does not limit rights or liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Norwegian law.
7. Use of Skiltvis
Skiltvis may be used privately and lawfully.
You must not attempt to bypass purchase controls, disrupt or damage the app or website, distribute malicious code, or use Skiltvis in a way that violates the law or the rights of others.
8. Purchases
Full access to Skiltvis may be offered as a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store.
The current price is shown before the purchase is completed.
Apple handles payment and purchase restoration. Refunds are handled under Apple’s rules and applicable law.
The purchase does not affect statutory consumer rights.
9. Intellectual property
The Skiltvis name, app design, learning experience, software and Skiltvis’s own editorial content belong to Skiltvis or the relevant rights holders.
Public road signs, official text, data and other source material may be subject to separate rights, terms or licences.
Use of such material in Skiltvis does not confer ownership of the material and does not imply that the source approves Skiltvis.
10. Availability and changes
We may improve, change or remove features, update the sign catalogue and correct content.
We cannot guarantee that the app or website will always be available or error-free.
Material changes affecting a paid service will be handled in accordance with applicable mandatory law.
11. Norwegian law
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law.
Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these Terms.
